Metsolat

Metsolat is Yleisradio's between 1993–1995 aired drama series in Finnish YLE TV2 -channel. Metsolat tells the story of a farmer family Metsolat and their life at Kainuu's fictional commune, Hoikka, from summer 1987 to spring 1994.

The series gained a huge popularity and every episode had over one million viewers. The reason for popularity was a strong sense of reality; Metsolat weren't built on unreal relationships but real destinies. Annikki, Antti Metsola's and their five children and grandchildren story is like a part of everyday life in Finland.
