Next Episode of Painting Australia is
not planed. TV Show was canceled.
In Painting Australia six prominent Australian landscape painters take us to their favourite locations, those often hidden and secret places that inspire their work and ignite their passion.
Part painting competition, part off-road adventure tour, Painting Australia is a series that incorporates art, history, culture, literature, architecture, travel, and explores some of the most remote and beautiful regions of Australia.
Each episode features a masterclass where three 'emerging' local artists are challenged to complete a work interpreting the landscape in two days. The emerging artists are guided by a master artist, who provides invaluable tips and tricks for their work. For each of the emerging artists the process is a transformative experience.
John R Walker takes us to Braidwood, Jenny Sages to Byron Bay, Tom Risley to Cooktown, Christine Christophersen to Kakadu, Mandy Martin to the Simpson Desert and John Wolseley to Bendigo.
Painting Australia follows the passion, frustration and every brushstroke as our local artists battle the elements working out in the open air. Wind, heat, cold and sand all add to the creative challenge. The masterclass culminates in a final 'bush gallery' and critique.
Painting Australia provides the opportunity for Australians to experience the land in the way our treasured landscape artists experience it. Tapping into a love and sense of attachment they might never have articulated for the forests, plain, mountains and deserts of this country. (Source: ABC)
