The three families pack up their homes, say their good-byes to loved ones, and prepare for the challenges that come with trading in the luxuries of modern-day society for a self-sufficient life.

Each family faces the reality of living off grid. The Kemps set up base camp & Shay struggles with David's vision. The Watfords try running water from a spring but Callie & Brett are at odds. The Elliotts organize the animals as Gracie resists adapting.
