The First Churchills

The First Churchills was the very first installment of the classic and long-running PBS anthology series Masterpiece Theater. The First Churchills was based on Winston Churchill's biography about his famous ancestors, John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough, and his wife, Sarah. The storyline dealt with their relationship with each other as well as various royal figures in Great Britain with whom they had dealings. John Neville and Susan Hampshire starred in the title roles as John and Sarah Churchill.
