When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions. They're eager to get right back to it, but there's just one problem: if they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they're sure to eat it on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: "Let's eat the monsters!" Slimes, basilisks, mimics, and even dragons...none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
The parties must band together to fend off an attack by vicious Harpies — but the unexpected appearance of a transformed Falin stuns everyone.
While in pursuit of Falin, Laios and crew seek shelter from a blizzard but are overrun by Shapeshifter copies of themselves. How will they spot the fakes?
The crew is cornered by an acquaintance who demands help with a beastly problem. Later, Laios enters Marcille's nightmare and discovers her greatest fear.
Izutsumi proves to be a useful ally despite her lousy table manners — and aversion to eating monsters. But the crew's kindness slowly opens her up.
