Alex Guarnaschelli is one of the most accomplished and revered chefs in the culinary arena, having won virtually every battle she has ever competed in. Now, over the course of five weeks, 15 brave chefs from across the United States take their best shot at beating Alex for the ultimate culinary triumph in the new competition series, Alex vs America. Hosted by the acclaimed chef Eric Adjepong, each episode features three culinary superstars competing over two rounds against one another as well as against Alex. These competitors might hail from different states, but they all share the same mastery of a specific ingredient or dish, one that they have spent endless hours in their own kitchens perfecting and which will now be tested in an effort to take down one of the country's most formidable chefs.At the start of each battle, Alex and the competitors learn what the challenge will be, with the chefs having the ability to work together in selecting variables for their dishes as well as the amount of time they give themselves and Alex to cook with. Each finished plate will undergo a blind tasting, with only the top three chefs advancing and the least successful from the challenge being immediately sent home, even if it is Alex. In the end, it all comes down to what's on the plate. Will the final two chefs outcook and outshine Alex, earning bragging rights over an award-winning Iron Chef? Or will Alex's legendary winning streak continue, sending all the ambitious competitors home with nothing but their disappointment?

S5E6 - Alex vs Mexico
Host Eric Adjepong welcomes three award-winning chefs specializing in Mexican cuisine to the arena. Ray Garcia, Claudette Zepeda and Gustavo Romero are ready to take on Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli in a battle celebrating America's neighbors to the South. Chef Alex fights to maintain her dominance against skilled chefs in a cuisine she loves to eat but rarely cooks, but will these skilled chefs be too spicy for Alex to handle? Respected chefs Daniela Soto-Innes and Bricia Lopez judge whether Alex has the expertise to get the better of these Mexican experts in her own house.

S5E7 - Alex vs Restaurant Teams
It's six against one! Never before seen in the Alex vs America arena, host Eric Adjepong invites three restaurant teams, consisting of an executive chef and sous chef, to take on Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. With only herself to rely on, Alex will have to outcook acclaimed teams of chefs who have years of experience cooking together. In two rounds, where anyone can be sent home, will she be able to keep up? The expert team of restaurateurs and brothers Michael and Bryan Voltaggio serve as judges for these exciting battles.

S5E8 - Alex vs Pastry
Eric Adjepong hosts as experienced bakers and successful competitors Keya Wingfield, Melissa Yanc and Karina Rivera join forces to take down Chef Alex Guarnaschelli in a pastry battle. As the cuisines get even more difficult, Alex must use her expertise in gameplay to outthink and outcook her opponents. Stephanie Boswell and Sherry Yard judge the two rounds of competition, where the chefs have a chance to win up to $15,000, but only if they can defeat Chef Alex!
