Paul Gigante was an officer who had just relocated from Washington D.C. to Bakersfield, California. He was half black and half Italian and most of the time he was mistaken for the criminal because he was the only black officer on the force. Wade Preston was his partner and was also a redneck and obsessed with trivia.
