Bandila

“Bandila” which means “Flag” in Filipino and in the case of this weeknight news show it alludes to “Banner Story”. On 3 July 2006 this new news program replaced the “ANS-CBN Insider” news program. In just under 1 year the International Academy of Television and Arts and Sciences has nominated this series for an award for late night national news broadcasting. The anchors/correspondents for this show include Ces Orena-Drilon, Henry Omega-Diaz and Korina Sanchez. This news show airs in what is an earlier time slot then the other major networks in the Philippines that air comedy shows at the same time. Because of its reporters/correspondents in other areas of the world they are able to report on more stories and faster then the other networks can to include Beirut, Israel, Lebanon as well as many of Middle East and European countries.
