The title character of Bosco was a small red-haired puppet who lived in a bosca (box). He was generally accompanied by two or more human co-stars. It was produced by the Lambert Puppet Theatre. The series also features various animation and stop-motion sequences. Although the series ended in 1983, it was shown regularly on Network 2 (now RTE 2) until 1995. It is well-known and loved by many people in Ireland, particularly those under the age of 30. Numerous petitions for it to air again have been mounted since.
