"Canada's War in Colour" is a three-part series telling the compelling story of Canada during the Second World War through the exclusive use of original colour movie footage of Canadians at war and on the home front. Much of this footage has lain unseen for decades in the storage rooms of the world's great archives and in the private home movie collections of ordinary Canadians across the country. Until now.

This important series details the unique Canadian experience of the Second World War through personal stories, telling of a time of danger and hope, of a nation with purpose and commitment.

A unique and important piece of truly landmark television, this allows a new generation to understand the sacrifice of a nation and experience for themselves what drove it to victory. To paraphrase a great Canadian thinker: The medium is truly the message. After seeing it in colour, Canadians will never think of their past in the same way again.
