Crime series following the adventures of a female private detective. Dickinson plays Cassie Holland, in the words of an antagonistic detective, an "ex-police woman, wife of a half-baked politician and now a private investigator."
Cassie prefers to be addressed as "Ms." but tolerates being labeled "a tough broad," as long as It is said with the proper reverence.
Cassie's company includes John Ireland, Dori Brenner and A Martinez.
Ireland plays Lyman Shackleford, an obnoxious retired detective Cassie cajoles into being her second set of private eyes. "Shack" is the guy Cassie bought her investigation agency from. Brenner is Cassie's "disabled" assistant Meryl. Her disability is she is a kleptomaniac, which Shack cruelly reminds her at every opportunity.
In any case, Martinez' character, street-wise Benny, runs a gymnasium, when he is not running errands tor Cassie and Shack.
