Extreme winter weather hit parts of the Eastern Seaboard on Saturday, with the Carolinas bearing the brunt. Skyler Henry reports from Norfolk, Virginia. A federal judge ordered the release of 5-year-old Liam Ramos and his father from Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention in Texas. The boy was detained last week while on his way home from preschool, sparking an international outcry. Ian Lee has more. The federal government is partially shut down this weekend. Congress failed to fund some of the largest agencies and departments before a Friday night deadline. Caitlin Huey-Burns has more. The U.S. military has assembled a formidable force within striking distance of Iran. Meanwhile, Iran said it would be starting live fire drills in the Strait of Hormuz this weekend as tensions in the region are sky high. Haley Ott reports. Actor Demond Wilson died in his California home due to complications from prostate cancer, CBS News learned on Saturday. He starred alongside Redd Foxx in "Sanford and Son," one of the biggest TV hits of the 1970s. Extreme cold has forced NASA to reschedule its next moon mission. On Saturday, the massive Artemis II rocket stands on launch pad 39B at the Kennedy Space Center. Like Apollo 8 in 1968, it won't land on the lunar surface. Ice hockey forward Hilary Knight showed the world why she's one of the greatest players ever. With her 14th goal, the captain of Team USA moved into a tie for the most goals scored by a U.S. Women's hockey player at the Winter Olympics. Lindsey Vonn's Olympic hopes were dashed Sunday by a devastating crash that forced her to undergo surgery for a broken leg. Seth Doane is in Cortina with the latest on her recovery and other news from the 2026 Winter Games. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft started a campaign in 2023 encouraging people to wear a small blue square with a hashtag. It's a symbol that started off challenging people to stand up to Jewish hate, but these days Kraft says it's meant to call out hate, in all of its forms. Jericka Duncan reports. Curling is the only sport played every day at the Winter Olympic Games and unlike other sports, the competitors usually are not full-time athletes.
