Cut from the Sam Spade pattern with all the familiar ingredients of a paperback gumshoe, Charlie Wild was created as a radio show starring George Petrie. First video version of Charlie Wild, Private Detective, a radio drama that premiered on NBC by 1950 but soon moved to CBS; it was shown on alternate Fridays. Kevin O'Morrison and then John McQuade played the private eye on the TV series.
