“Doc Corkle” was a situation comedy that premiered on Sunday night, 5 October 1952 at 7:30 PM on NBC TV. Doc was played by actor Eddie Mayehoff and the series also starred Arnold Stang, Billie Burke, Connie Marshall and Hope Emerson. Eddie as Doc was a dentist who had problems saving money and had a very strange and nutty group of relatives. Doc’s daughter Laurie Corkle was engaged to be married to a young millionaire who had inherited 6 major corporations.

The series had one major sponsor in the Reynolds steel corporation and they were very upset with the premise of the series and quickly pulled their sponsorship. The show only aired 3 episodes with the final episode being shown on Sunday night 19 October 1952. The series was replaced by another situation comedy titled “Mr. Peppers” that had debuted on 3 July 1952. It moved from it’s regular Thursday night time slot to this new Sunday night timeslot on 26 October 1952 and it remained on the air until 12 June 1955.
