"Face the Nation" is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television, having premiered on CBS on Nov. 7, 1954.

Each Sunday, CBS News Chief Washington Correspondent Bob Schieffer interviews newsmakers on the latest issues. The program broadcasts from Washington, D.C., where Schieffer has spent more than 25 years covering government and politics. He has anchored "Face the Nation" since 1991.

Guests include government leaders, politicians, and international figures in the news. CBS News correspondents engage the guests in a lively roundtable discussion focusing on current topics.

Mark Warner of Virginia and Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales. It's been one week since Savannah Guthrie's 84-year-old mother was abducted from her Tucson home. The "Today" show anchor released a new video Saturday night pleading for her mother's safe return, saying, "we will pay." David Becker, executive director of the Center for Election Innovation and Research and a CBS News election law contributor, tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that election officials are "very concerned" about President Trump's push to "consolidate more power than the Constitution granted by seizing the mechanisms of elections." Legendary downhill skier Lindsey Vonn, who already had a torn ACL, crashed seconds into her race at the Milan Olympics on Sunday morning. Two American freestyle skiers, Hunter Hess and Chris Lillis, acknowledged "mixed emotions" representing the U.S. at the Milano Cortina Olympics amid the heated political environment. The remarks have drawn criticism from the Trump administration and some Republicans.
