Home Again

For many young people, formative years are spent counting the days until they can break free from their parental jailers and move into that Holiest of Grails, "their own place". But what happens when the dream remains just out of reach due to the mundane realities of financial insecurity?

Like many young couples, newly-weds Ingrid and Mark are struggling to get their feet on the first rung of the property ladder. Mark's vocation as a horror effects specialist is a rather niche one and the outlets requiring a man of his skills are really rather limited. Ingrid's office job certainly does not pay enough to support her, her new husband and a downpayment on a new home. Nor does it pay enough for her to indulge in her shoe obsession but, oddly, that's not too much of an issue.

They soon realise that the only way to save enough money for their own property is to move in with Ingrid's parents, Sheila and Graham. It's a realisation greeted with equal horror on both sides, and as the move threatens to shatter the peace and tranquillity of retirement, it's not just the kids who are dreading the move home again.
