BBC Three goes behind the headlines to explore the role "honour" played in a number of high-profile and horrific murders, in a new, compelling and thought-provoking documentary series.

For the past 18 months, an observational documentary team has followed police investigations from the initial discovery of bodies right through to trial and verdict. Gaining exclusive access to the crime scenes, forensic findings and the Crown Prosecution Service – and talking to the victims' families – the programme makers ask how society responds when people are prepared to murder their own flesh and blood for bringing shame on the family.
