In 2001, Lisa Ades and Leslie Kleinberg filmed interesting a documentary Indie Sex: Taboos, where they made the first attempt to investigate the problem of sex in American indie cinematography. The film was a huge success, but directors returned to the topic only after six years, releasing three more films, making thus of Indie Sex the TV mini-series.
