British factual producer World Media Rights (WMR) has pre-sold "Killer Trials: Judgment Day" to Investigation Discovery in the United States and struck a deal with IMG to distribute the true crime series globally under the title Great Crimes and Trials.

The 26 x 26-minute series examines some of the world’s most horrifying and sensational crimes, such as a case involving a group of Australian women who believed they were vampires and killed a man in order to drink his blood. The series was produced by Leoni Jameson and was executive produced by WMR creative director Matthew Barrett.

“We interview victims who survived, the families of those who didn’t and prosecutors and defense lawyers, intercut with sizzling reconstructions of crimes and trials,” WMR CEO Alan Griffiths said in a statement. “Where the trial footage exists we also use that extensively. These are must-watch programs driven by tragedy and a hunt for justice.” (Source: Investigation Discovery)
