Maui Chopper

"Maui Chopper" features Windward Aviation based at Kahului Airport working with Maui County’s Fire Department and Ocean Safety Department, and state and federal agencies. Macy Productions of Los Angele is producing the show. Six episodes have already been purchased by truTV with the potential for another six depending on ratings. Discussions about the show between Macy Productions, Windward Aviation and its owner Don Shearer and others started nearly two years ago.

Windward Aviation provides all the helicopter rescue work for Maui County and several state and federal agencies involved in environmental and law enforcement work including marijuana and alien species eradication. (Shearer piloted the helicopter for Oahu-based videographer Don King who filmed big wave surfers Laird Hamilton, Derek Doerner and Dave Kalama in the spectacular opening title sequence shot at Maui’s Jaws surf break and other segments of the James Bond film, Die Another Day in 2002.
