"Meerkat Manor" documents the everyday lives of a group of wild meerkats in the wild Kalahari Desert, located in Southern Africa. Watch as the small animals’ fight to survive daytime, and see the animals as never seen before. You see it how they see it- from their perspective. This series originally debuted in the UK on 12 September 2005. This series was so successful that Animal Planet picked it up and began airing it on its' channels in Australia, Canada, and the U.S. in 2006. Since then the series has not only become the Animal Planet's most popular series of all time but it is now seen in over 160 countries worldwide.

This series has had several different narrators over the past 4 seasons. Bill Nighy is the narrator in Canada and the UK. In Australia the narrator is Mike Goldman and in the US the narrator for season 1 - 3 was Sean Astin who was replaced in season 4 by Stockard Channing.

The Whiskers

Flower, the dominant female (collared). Died as the result of a cobra bite while trying to chase the snake away from her pups.
Zephod, her partner
Shakespeare assumed dead, killed by the Lauli's last invasion
Toska: assumed dead, evicted for having a litter without permission.
The kids, Flower's pups, as they grow. each litter containing 3-4 pups.
Yousarian: Zephod's brother, searching for a mate.
Rocket Dog, one of Flower's daughters, takes over dominant female role after Flower's death.

The Lasuli: the rivaling gang of meerkats
Kazaana: Dominant female (collared)
Big Sy: dominant male. killed.
Carlos: Kazanna's oldest son.

Comandos: nearby gang of meerkats
Hannibal: Dominant male. (collared)
