"MODELS NYC" isn’t just about the beautiful people. This six-part series takes an insider's look at the modeling industry, as it revolves around the New York Soho loft of Q Management, one of the city's successful boutique modeling agencies. It follows the professional and private lives of a dozen beauties and their agents-- from the 18-year-old hottie whose partying ways could sink her career before it starts to the British bombshell who's struggling to get noticed on this side of the Atlantic. And unlike so many other shows -- nothing is manufactured, nothing is staged. Our cameras catch everything from the castings to the photo shoots to the hilarious behind the scenes silliness from the agents who are part savvy business people, part dysfunctional family.

Similar to other modeling industry reality shows like VH1's "The Agency" and MTV's "8th & Ocean", "Models NYC" will document the activities of a modeling agency -- in this case Q Management, a "boutique" agency that operates out of a Soho loft in New York City.

"What's remarkable is the advertising industry spends more than 3 billion dollars a day just to get our attention and at the heart of all that expense, time, and planning, is usually a teenage girl, a model. The industry revolves around her. This series explores both the models and the industry at large," said Michael Rubin, vice president of long-form programming at MSNBC.

Personalities viewers are introduced to on "Models NYC" include "a beautiful but insecure" model looking to escape the poverty and foster care in her past; a model who is a "big success in London" that is trying to make it in the states; an 18-year-old trying to learn the business but can't resist the nightlife; a veteran agent who know the stakes; and even Q Management's owner, who all of the model's know not to cross.
