Three housewives participated in contests to see who would be named "Mother of the Day' on this New York-based programme, the only daytime series hosted by Dick Van Dyke apart from The Morning Show. Among the games were guessing how many slices of ham could be cut to make a half pound and figuring out which had fewer calories, half a broiled chicken or six ounces of lean beef.
