A musical variety show aimed at teenagers featured artists like Cliff Richard and Shirley Bassey. Although most of the acts were from the UK, occasionally artists like The Inkspots, Conway Twitty and Brenda Lee would make appearances. Unlike American Bandstand, Oh Boy! put the emphasis on performance and would more rightfully be compared to The Ed Sullivan Show.
