Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the wonderfully warped world of Phoo Action.
The year is 2012 and London is in the grip of mutant criminals The Freebies, in this kung-fu action drama adapted from a Jamie Hewlett comic strip and starring Jaime Winstone and Eddie Shin. Only Terry Phoo, a hapless Buddhist kung-fu cop, and Whitey Action, an unruly teenage heroine and the daughter of Police Chief Benjamin Benson, can save the nation.
They form an unlikely, but effective, crime-fighting team who bring together chaos and comedy, and mischief and mayhem, to become heroes for a future generation in the face of Britain's super-vile, super-famous mutated criminals.
Based on characters created by Jamie Hewlett (Gorillaz, Tank Girl) for The Face comic strip Get The Freebies, Phoo Action is an action-packed, hyper-real drama for BBC Three featuring car chases, kung-fu and comedy.
Terry Phoo is played by Eddie Shin, Whitey Action by Jaime Winstone and Benjamin Benson by Carl Weathers. Phoo Action also stars Danny Webb as the sinister and power-hungry Lord Rothwell; Talulah Riley as Lady Elenor Rigsby, Whitey's party-loving posh pal; and Sanjeev Kohli as Alan Arthanayake, a celebrity-obsessed news anchorman.
