Unbeknownst to him, average guy Buddy Overstreet (Jack Shelton) is sitting in a steambath with a group of mobsters led by the sinister Mr. Devere (Bruce Gordon). Buddy overhears them talking about a mysterious plan they refer to as "Chicken Little." Since the mobsters don't want outsiders revealing their sinister plot, Buddy is forced to go on the run for his life. Devere, his milksop son (Jim Connell), and two dim bulb henchmen (Nicholas Georgiade, Gregg Palmer) pursue Buddy intending to bump him off before he can reveal the existence of "Chicken Little." The series was kind of a comedic version of The Fugitive with dashes of The Untouchables and Get Smart thrown in for good measure. It also featured the ironic casting of Gordon and Georgiade as mobsters on the wrong side of the law. They had co-starred together previously on The Untouchables with Georgiade playing a federal agent on the opposite side of the law from Gordon. Despite delivering some solid laughs the show never caught on in the ratings and bit the dust after only 17 episodes.
