Thirteen volunteers from around the country embark on a six-month training programme in a bid to overcome physical difficulties and take part in the London Marathon. Former athletes Sally Gunnell and Steve Cram hope to help them battle their past traumas, from cancer to disabling road accidents, to help them prepare for the 26-mile run
