Secret Recipes is a fresh new cooking series that lifts the lid on the extraordinary traditional recipes Australians use in their kitchens every day.

Each week host Jacques Reymond takes us on a journey into a different culture to meet the characters who are the keepers of their families' culinary secrets: Be it gran's apple pie, or nonna's goat's cheese, you can be certain there's a secret recipe involved and that it's been passed on from one generation to the next.

Immigration has changed the way we live, challenged the way we think – and seasoned what we eat! Australians everywhere are cooking their secret recipes and creating the new world cuisine.

Shot with only a small crew, Secret Recipes is an intimate series that doesn't clean up the kitchen for the cameras – and Jacques draws on the dynamics between cook and helpers to give this series a unique flavour. We also travel to markets to learn how to buy fresh produce, and into family gardens to pick our home grown salads, we share fine wine fermented in backyard barrels and join in exotic feasts.
