Single with Parents

Lou (Alyssa Milano) is a thirtysomething gal who is trying to live her life on her own, but her divorced parents turn to her for support way too often: her father, Joe (Beau Bridges), uses her as a surrogate parent while her mother, Elizabeth (Annie Potts), needs her as a shrink and a confidante. In order to shake her parents' constant need, she asks the universe for a few favors: the perfect wife for her dad, the perfect best friend for her mom, and the perfect guy for her. Lou quickly discovers that wishes do come true, but not in the way you planned -- her dad soon meets Nancy (Meagen Fay), an aquarium tour guide who will soon be her new stepmother complete with two younger children who cannot stand Lou. Later Lou meets Mr. Right, Charlie (Eric Winter), but he turns out to be Nancy's son and her soon-to-be step-brother. And Lou's mother does find the perfect best friend ... Lou herself.
