Stump the Schwab is a game show where three contestants face off against Howie Schwab, ESPN's first (and only) statistician. Stuart Scott hosts. The show consists of three rounds:

Leading Off: All contestants (including The Schwab) have to name an athlete that has completed a significant feat in the sports world. The achievement is always one only a select number of athletes (or teams) has accomplished. For example, naming the past fifteen NCAA basketball tournament champions. If the contestant cannot answer correctly or at all, they are eliminated for the rest of the topic, and the person with the lowest score at the end of the round is eliminated.

Round Two: There are a few variations of the second game played. One includes "Fill in the Blanks," where the contestants (the Schwab doesn't play in Round Two) have to fill in the blanks on a certain championship team's starting lineup. "Who Am I?" is when The Schwab asks the contestants about a coach or player for a certain amount of points. Games about movies and players' college choices are also sometimes played.

Schwab Showdown: When there is one contestant remaining, he/she must face off against The Schwab. Four categories are given, with three questions of increasing point value in each category. Each player is allowed to "pass" one question to the other player (who may pass it back, should they have their "pass" ready). An incorrect response earns one strike, and the first to three strikes loses. If the questions are exhausted before reaching three strikes, the point leader wins.
