Emma Brody is a young, single all-American woman who leaves behind her dysfunctional family in Toledo, Ohio to take a job as the vice consul at the U.S. Embassy in London, England where she squares off against her no-nonsense boss, Elque Polk, and has a meeting of minds with CIA attache Doug Roach and her new co-workers in dealing with various political cases.

S1E2 - China Cup
Traumatized by the bombing at the embassy, Emma is in denial of her pain and anger over the loss of a friend. She ignores Elque's advice to attend trauma counseling. By giving herself some "me-time," Emma eventually finds the means to release her emotions.
