Over 10 weeks, 12 of the best amateur bakers in Britain will whisk, knead, ice, beat and bake their way through classic British cakes, perfect patisserie, Italian delights, sticky caramel constructions and elaborate layered puddings. All 12 will be hoping to impress with their skill, creativity, knowledge and passion to clinch the Bake Off Crown. Each of the 30 new challenges have been carefully designed by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to reveal just who is a star baker.

S17E4 - Bread Week
The bakers are hoping for a Hollywood handshake this week as they tackle bread, the steely-eyed judge's speciality. The challenges include a garlic bread signature and a showstopping bread display - not to mention one of the most disastrous technicals in the show's history. Who will be dusting themselves off and hanging up their apron?

S17E5 - Dessert Week
Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond present as the bakers serve up their best desserts, and for their first challenge they face a staggered start signature in which they make self-saucing puddings. They also face a British classic in the technical and have to produce a selection of classic retro puddings in the showstopper. Paul Hollywood and Nigella Lawson taste their efforts and decide who is hanging up their apron.

Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond lead the bakers through pastry week, where they make hand-held savoury pies in the signature challenge before attempting a Polish choux dessert in the technical. Finally, their skills are pushed to the limit when they are challenged to make an eye-catching decorative pie for the showstopper. Nigella Lawson and Paul Hollywood taste their efforts.
