Over 10 weeks, 12 of the best amateur bakers in Britain will whisk, knead, ice, beat and bake their way through classic British cakes, perfect patisserie, Italian delights, sticky caramel constructions and elaborate layered puddings. All 12 will be hoping to impress with their skill, creativity, knowledge and passion to clinch the Bake Off Crown. Each of the 30 new challenges have been carefully designed by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to reveal just who is a star baker.

S16E8 - Dessert Week
Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding present dessert week, which sees the bakers get stuck into a Basque-style cheesecake and a gluten-free sponge, before serving up an elaborate free-standing trifle in the showstopper. As always, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith taste their efforts - but who will make it through to next week's semi-final?

S16E9 - Patisserie Week
Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding present as the semi-finalists take on patisserie week, serving up cream horns and tackling a recipe for a sugar glass dome in the technical round. In the showstopper, they produce a macaron sculpture that depicts something meaningful to them, before judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood decide who will be going through to the final.

S17E1 - Cake Week
The bunting has been hung and the tent is up, which can only mean one thing - Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding are back to guide a fresh batch of amateur bakers through 10 weeks of challenges set by new judge Nigella Lawson and Bake Off veteran Paul Hollywood. As ever, it all begins with cake week, for which Nigella sets the contestants a stout cake signature, before they get artistic in the technical and serve up a self-portrait showstopper.

S17E2 - Biscuit Week
It's Biscuit Week and there's a trip Stateside for the bakers in the Signature as they make American-style cookies. In the Technical, it's a journey of a different kind as they travel back in time for a nostalgic classic. But nothing is quite as it seems and they must rely on their taste alone to recreate this beloved bake. And in the Showstopper, a visually striking biscuit mosaic tests the bakers' artistic flair and also gives them the chance to create something that's close to their hearts.
