IT WAS THE MAYOR'S BRIGHT IDEA...to take the worst cops from every precinct, put them all together in one unit-and then get out of the way! Funny thing though, THE LAST PRECINCT always gets its man. Call it dumb luck. Call it a smart idea! IT'S A GROUP TO PUT "HILL STREET BLUES" TO SHAME...One always dresses like Elvis Presley, one dresses like Superfly, and one wears a dress! Two are so old they couldn't pass the physical at the county morgue! One 300-pound motorcycle cop has a mechanical dummy for a partner...and he's the smarter half of the team! There's an exchange officer from India who ought to be exchanged for something else! Two women have trouble with men, and one woman is a man! One is squeaky clean, and one is determined to be a hero if he has to kill everyone! It's a crime what they do in the name of law and order!
As Capt. Rob Wright. Adam West plays a combination Keystone Kop and Inspector Clouseau. Wright is in command of a hopelessly inept and motley bunch of cops who have been lumped together in a single precinct with headquarters In the morgue of a large, unidentified metropolis ... like Gotham City, perhaps?
The loony players include Keenan Wynn, Jonathan Perpich, Ernie Hudson, Randi Brooks, Vijay Amritraj and Hank Rolike.
Brooks plays a transsexual officer who does a lot of undercover work. Pete Willcox portrays a cop who moonlights as an Elvis Presley impersonator and Rick Ducommun plays a 300-pound motorcycle officer. Wings Hauser plays a sheriff's deputy who wages constant jurisdictional wars with the wacko precinct.
