In the 1930s, an idealistic young doctor goes to a small South Pacific island called Koraluna to help set up a modern hospital in the face of the polio epidemic and the start of WWII. His personal life isn't any easier when he becomes involved with Paula, the senior physician's daughter, and Aleena, the princess of Koraluna's native people.
