The Real Ghostbusters is a continuation of the 1984 action/comedy "Ghostbusters". The four Ghostbusters, Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Ray Stantz, Dr. Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore, fight forces bordering on the supernatural. Helping them out later on would be secretary Janine Melnitz, and nerdy Central Park West resident Louis Tully (both of which were featured in the movie and its 1989 sequel). Even the green ghost named Slimer, which was caught at the Sedgewick Hotel in the first movie, would be on hand to help. The series spawned something of a spin-off, "Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters," halfway through its run.
The Real Ghostbusters, after being dropped in 1991, continued a short syndication run on the Fox Family Channel from 1998 to 2000.
