Hardy workers have built and maintained New York's subway lines for more than 150 years, enduring hazardous conditions 800ft below the street. This programme follows the new generation of 'Sandhogs' - two of them British - who risk their lives blasting through rock and rubble to create two new lines commissioned by the city.
