UWP was found in 1996 as one of eight regional tours located in northeastern part of the USA or better known as “Region 8” through sanctioning of the International Jet Sport Boating Association (IJSBA). UWP in 2009 partnered with the IJSBA to produce the UWP-IJSBA Watercross National Tour, as a starting point to revamp watercross racing across the country. (Source: Mid-Atlantic Sports Network)
