For years, iconic designer Betsey Johnson has led the fashion community with her fabulous, eclectic styles, and she now gives viewers unprecedented access to her fascinating life. With her daughter and muse Lulu Johnson by her side, Johnson is focused on reinventing her brand under Steve Madden after filing for bankruptcy and closing all her stores. Johnson and her daughter have always worked together to expand Johnson's fashion empire, but the pressures of their business relationship have created a co-dependent, sometimes strained, mother-daughter relationship. Meanwhile, Lulu Johnson is having her own metamorphosis, looking to step out of her mother's shadow and create her own fashion line. Surrounded by a cast of characters, including Brandon, Johnson's right-hand and personal assistant, and Lulu's outspoken best friend Angela, Johnson takes fans on an exciting ride through her world.

S1E6 - Biggest Show of My Life
Betsey is putting the final touches on her epic runway show and 70th birthday celebration, and she proposes having Lulu pop out of the cake at the end. Meanwhile, Lulu meets with a potential business partner about launching her own line, but does she really have everything in order now that she's on her own? Then, the day of Betsey's fashion show arrives--complete with drama and a big name celebrity singer!

S1E7 - 5 O'clock Somewhere
Betsey decompresses after her runway show of a lifetime with a calmed down birthday dinner with Lulu--or so she thinks! Betsey can't relax too long because she has to shoot a retro-themed photo for her website. Meanwhile, Lulu and Betsey attend a therapy session and hash out old issues that are being brought up. However, it only leads to learning some valuable information about Lulu's health.

In the season finale, Betsey needs some inspiration for her next project and decides she and Lulu should take a spontaneous trip to Tokyo! They first need to brush up on their Japanese etiquette and that doesn't come as easy as they expected. Then, Betsey and Lulu take the town by storm on a shopping spree--but only one is left feeling satisfied. Will Betsey put on a halt on her fun vacation and finally acknowledge Lulu is in need of a serious talk?
