“Your Show Time” was a very short-lived weekly dramatic anthology series. It debuted on Friday, 21 January 1949 at 9:30 PM on NBC TV. The show was taped dramatizations of classic short stories by some of the most well known authors in the world that was hosted by Arthur Shields. Some of the authors this series included were Guy de Maupassant, Henry James, Robert Louis Stevenson and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This series received the very first Emmy award for a nationally broadcasted show but still went off the air on 15 July 1949 due to very poor ratings.
