“Musical Merry-Go-Round” was a weekly music variety show seen on NBC TV. The series debuted on 25 July 1947 titled “Disc Magic” but the title of the show was changed in October. This show is considered one of the earliest music programs ever to air on network TV in prime-time. The show started off as a series where a disk jockey Jack Kilty would just play the popular records of the day.

In October when the show got its’ new name its’ format also changed shifting to live weekly entertainment. There were 4 regulars on the show throughout most of its’ run to include Jack, singers Eve Young and Penny Gerard and actor Frederick ‘Fritz’ DeWilde. They would also have occasional guests who were all virtual unknowns from the Cabaret circuit.

This series was seen in 4 different time slots over its’ short 2 season run to include:

July 1947 - September 1947 - Friday 8:00 to 8:30PM
October 1947 – January 1948 – Thursday 8:00 to 8:30PM
January 1948 – February 1948 – Friday 7:45 to 8:00PM
February 1948 – March 1948 – Friday 7:30 to 7:50PM
