Greg Davies is the Taskmaster who, with the help of his right-hand man, Alex, sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper competitive comedians through a series of ingenious challenges. With the chance to be crowned show champion, rivalry amongst the comedians is encouraged, dodgy tactics rewarded and bribes accepted.

Alex Horne keeps an eye on their progress, while Greg Davies sums up their performances and hands out the points.

Greg Davies dishes out points when they're deserved and withholds them when they're not as he tries to make sense of Nina Conti filling her face with citrus fruits, Isy Suttie locating her saliva on Alex's jacket and Richard Ayoade chucking a doll's head at a gargoyle.
