Greg Davies is the Taskmaster who, with the help of his right-hand man, Alex, sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper competitive comedians through a series of ingenious challenges. With the chance to be crowned show champion, rivalry amongst the comedians is encouraged, dodgy tactics rewarded and bribes accepted.
Isy Suttie unexpectedly mentions eggs, Matt Lucas stares hard at the ceiling, Nina Conti gets very clever in a test, Chloe Petts hides an object somewhere Alex Horne wouldn't dare look, and Richard Ayoade gives the slight impression that he finds some of the tasks a bit irritating. But why is Greg Davies wearing a white glove?
A former contestant makes an unexpected and dramatic return to the Taskmaster house, but will the current cast give them the respect they undoubtedly deserve?
Richard Ayoade causes controversy while wearing a blindfold, Isy Suttie reveals her revolutionary counting method, Nina Conti invents a new word, Matt Lucas briefly turns into an old-school railwayman, and Chloe Petts is the first contestant in Taskmaster history to draw blood while avoiding flying sausages. Meanwhile, Alex Horne is very excited to unveil his brand-new science machine. Greg Davies is less interested.
Matt Lucas decides to cut the Taskmaster down to size. Nina Conti repeatedly insults a citrus fruit, and Alex Horne delights in making everyone wear aprons.
