First, creative comfort is still kickin' at this Boston joint, bringing a sinful s'mores French toast tower to the first meal of the day. Next, a bookstore-slash-café in Duluth is going strong with over-the-top eats like killer kimchi Japanese pancakes with salmon and savory braised bison with polenta. And an old-school institution in West Lafayette, Ind., is still crankin' out classics with a twist, like outrageous sausage gravy burgers, plus sweet-and-tangy tenders and biscuits.

Next, an Allston, Mass., joint is still bringing mega Mexican flavors to New England with top-shelf seafood and gourmet mushroom asada on scratch-made tortillas. And in Minneapolis, the home of the "Blucy" expanded to two brick-and-mortars, stuffin' their signature patties with ghost pepper cheese, then topping tots with killer queso and mojo pork.
