“1 vs. 100” the very popular Game show that began on NBC TV in the U.S. has now made it to another country, that is The Philippines. On 25 August 2007 the ABS-CBN network debuted their version of this game show and it airs every Saturday night at 7 PM. All the rules are the same as the U.S. version where 1 player must outlast a mob of 100 people in a tense battle of the minds for a chance to win the 2 million peso cash prize. To stay in the game, the player must answer trivia questions and get every one right, wrong answers from the mob eliminates them from the game. Every time 1 or more Mob members is eliminated it drives up the cash pot for the player. If that 1 player can eliminate all 100 Mob members then they will claim the top prize. Anyone who wants to be a contestant or a Mob member can sing up via SMS text messaging. The host of this version is a very popular game show host “Edu Manzano” who has also hosted the Philippines game shows “Pilipinas, Game KNB?” and the country’s version of “The Weakest Link”. At last count there are at least 16 countries currently airing this very popular game show and counting.
