A woman collapses on a narrowboat, showing signs of a stroke. She's confused and keeps repeating herself, which is out of character. An ambulance is called to a woman who has collapsed, but while she is being treated, she falls to the floor again. A daughter is concerned for her mother, who has terrible pain in her face, and a woman who hasn't eaten for two days is weak with a very swollen stomach and needs to go to hospital.
Paramedics treat a man who's having a heart attack but thinks he's just pulled a muscle. He has no history of cardiac issues, but an examination confirms that his heart is blocked. A day out hiking ends badly for a man when he falls and injures his ankle, and the paramedics' tea and toast making skills are needed for a diabetic patient.
A patient has a nosebleed that won't stop, and is concerned that it could be linked to a recent bleed on the brain. Paramedics treat a woman who wakes up in the night having a heart attack. A patient with abdominal pain has lost a lot of blood and needs to go to hospital, while on the night shift, a drunk man who has collapsed in the street refuses medical help.
