Private eye drama that was an attempt by both ABC and Warner Brothers to strike gold a second time after the success of 77 Sunset Strip. Bourbon Street Beat was basically 77 Sunset Strip set in New Orleans and starred Andrew Duggan, Richard Long, and Van Williams as a trio of private eyes. Despite lasting only one season, some of Bourbon Street Beat's characters lived on afterwards. Rex Randolph (played by Richard Long) would later join the cast of 77 Sunset Strip whilst Kenny Madison (played by Van Williams) would turn up on Surfside 6.
