CBS News will launch a live third hour of CBS Mornings on television and streaming named CBS Mornings Plus, which will debut Monday, Sept. 30 with Tony Dokoupil and Adriana Diaz as co-hosts. CBS MORNINGS PLUS (9:00-10:00 AM, ET) will air weekdays on CBS-owned stations in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Detroit and Miami and simulcast on CBS News 24/7, CBS News' national, free streaming news network.CBS Mornings Plus will be produced by the award-winning CBS Mornings team and take viewers deeper into the most important headlines of the day, as well as pop culture, entertainment, health, wellness and financial news. Dokoupil, who will continue as co-host of CBS MORNINGS, and Diaz, will drive in-depth interviews and original reporting on major news stories each day during the new live hour.
As Republican lawmakers like Thom Tillis and Don Bacon face backlash for breaking from party lines, former Sen. Jeff Flake joins CBS Mornings to weigh in on growing partisanship in Congress. Dr. Celine Gounder joins CBS Mornings to break down the FDA-approved drug Lenacapavir, which is being called the closest step yet to an HIV vaccine. In "Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado," Samantha Lorraine plays a teenage Dora exploring the Amazon in a new twist on the beloved Nickelodeon series.
With U.S. involvement in global conflicts under scrutiny, former CIA Director and General David Petraeus joins "CBS Mornings Plus" to offer insight on America's role in a changing world. For the first time in over 80 years, the Women's Pro Baseball League will hold U.S. tryouts. Co-founder Justine Siegal and advisor Alex Hugo join "CBS Mornings Plus" to discuss the league's future.
