Seven's new series follows young Homicide Detectives Simon (Daniel MacPherson, Neighbours, Tripping Over), Duncan (Aaron Pedersen, Water Rats), Jennifer (Nadine Garner, Water Rats, Stingers) and Matt (Damien Richardson) as they try to deal with the reality of their jobs in their personal and professional lives. With the help of their Superintendent (Noni Hazlehurst, Better Homes and Gardens) and Senior Sergeant (Shane Bourne, Thank God You're Here, MDA) they go about trying to solve some of Melbourne's most brutal homicides. Simon is called before the Ethical Standards Department to answer charges on the serious injury of Sergio Mendez. Simon beats the charge eventually but his past comes back to haunt him when Harvey Pullman, a previous suspect, identifies Simon as the man who threatened him and he is subsequently suspended by DSS Blake.
Stanley co-leads the investigation into Harvey Pullman's death alongside DSS Blake who has her own agenda against Simon. Meanwhile, Nick is drawn back into an unsolved missing child case and begins to do another investigation into the circumstances of the child's disappearance.
