This 8 x 30 new clip-based series narrated by Jason Manford, looks back over 60 years of Coronation Street with each episode carefully curated from the archives to bring alive a theme via specially selected highlights.
Comedian Jason Manford narrates a look back at the soap's scandalous storylines, with illicit affairs, teenage pregnancy and bigamy having all have rocked the street over the years. Among the stories featured are Sarah Louise Platt's teenage pregnancy and the Baldwin family's tangled affairs.
The soap was founded on its dominating matriarchs and strong northern working-class woman and this edition celebrates the best of them - including the likes of Ena Sharples, Ivy Tilsley, Vera Duckworth, Blanche Hunt and Evelyn Plummer.
Jason Manford narrates a look at memorable days out and holidays from the soap's archives, revisiting the first episode filmed entirely on location in 1967 and a coach trip to Windermere in 1969 that ended in disaster. Plus, romantic flings of Bet, Rita and Mavis on a girl's holiday to Majorca in 1974.
A celebration of some of the many famous faces that have graced the street over the years, including Sir Ian McKellen, Joanna Lumley and comedy legend Peter Kay. We also look at actors who have crossed the soap divide appearing in both Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
