Dancin' Days

Thirty three years after the premiere of Dancin' Days in Brazil, a remake adapted to modern times and the Portuguese reality emerges. The telenovela tells the story of two sisters, Julia and Raquel, who were returning home by car, on the night of New Year's Eve, when Raquel runs over a man. Julia brings with guilt and she's sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 18 years for a crime she didn't commit.
A few months after being arrested, Julia gives birth to a girl, Mariana, who delivers her sister for this to educate until she get out of jail, asking her to never tell the girl that her mother was arrested, but that she's traveling the world. In the first months, Rachel still visits her sister every week, but after marrying Zé Maria she ends up completely disconnect Julia, leaving her to her fate.
Julia gets out of jail after completed 16 years in prison and the inevitable confrontation with the sister happens, Rachel managed to keep away Mariana from Julia. It is at this stage that Julia meets Duarte, a diplomat just arrived from Brussels.
For Julia, life is replaced by a single goal: to approach the daughter without it rejects.
